Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Captain Morgan Pulled Pork and Chicken Breast

I wonder if Captain Morgan would go great with these Captain Morgan BBQ meats. Well, I guess if I drank too much Captain Morgan, I probably wouldn’t care. (Spotted by Andrew at Shoppers.)

Amy's Margherita Pizza Bites

Amy's Snacks Black Bean & Rice Taquitos

Amy's Snacks Samosas

Wait a minute. Those don’t look like champagne and fruit juice. Oh wait. That’s Mimosa. Wait a minute. Those don’t look like vanilla cookies coated in caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut and laced with chocolate stripes. Oh wait. That’s Samoas. These are Samosas. I think I’ve had too many Mimosas and Captain Morgan BBQ meats. (Spotted by Emily at Target.)

PhillySwirl Limited Edition Mystery Flavor Candy Spoonz

I would be more excited about this product if it came in a plain brown box with just a question mark on it. (Spotted by Lori at Giant.)

Archer Farms Spicy Maple Bourbon and Bloody Mary Pickle Spears

When did flavored pickles become a thing? (Spotted by Claire G at Target.)

Forgetful

It was another quiet day, although when I walk across the back yard I now hear the sound of leaves crunching underfoot. The heat has cause the oaks to begin shedding early this year, so it's like having summer and fall at the same time. But the leaves don't have fall colors. They are a dull gray or pale brown, which is what happens to leaves killed by heat. I should start raking them, as it isn't good to have a lot of dead leaves lying about the yard during fire season. But when I rake them I will see the dead, brown lawn that they are currently obscuring. It's going to look dry out there no matter what I do.

The landscape is nicer at night, when it is all dark shapes and deep shadows. This will be another moonless night, as the waning crescent won't appear until near dawn. But a few evenings hence I will see the waxing crescent appear in the west just after sunset. That will lend a bit of interest to the hotter evenings that are coming next week. Have I mentioned that I'm already very much over this summer? I think I have.

I lose track of the date, and I just noticed that today was a watering day. I didn't water, and now it's too late, especially with no moonlight. I guess the oleanders will just have to get a bit dryer. Their flowers are already turning brown, but I'm not going to stumble around in the dark to irrigate them. They probably won't die before Saturday. I think I will give the rose bushes some water, though. They are close to the back porch and the light from the kitchen window illuminates them. I really must get that burned-out back porch light replaced eventually.

REVIEW: Red Bull Summer Edition Energy Drink

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/theimpulsivebuy/aRIJ/~3/P7su_AO1As0/

http://www.theimpulsivebuy.com/wordpress/?p=17268

Red Bull Summer Edition Energy Drink

Sure, Red Bull’s Summer Edition Energy Drink looks like a urine sample sitting in a drug testing lab. But, to be fair, regular Red Bull also looks like a urine sample sitting in a drug testing lab, but from someone who’s dehydrated because they’ve been hanging out for too long in the summer heat.

If you happen to find yourself parched from the summer heat, near a 7-Eleven, and with a couple of bucks, you can purchase a somewhat refreshing 12 ounces of this tropical flavored Red Bull in a can that will remind you of the sun that caused your current parched predicament. Or you could buy a more refreshing two liter bottled water that you can drink and, with the likely leftovers, use for an impromptu wet t-shirt contest, with you being the only contestant.

Red Bull Summer Edition is a 7-Eleven exclusive flavor. It joins a long list of exclusive beverages the convenience store chain has gotten this year, like Solar Flare Mountain Dew, Green Apple Gatorade Fierce, Raspberry Citrus Vitaminwater Energy, and Dale Jr. Sour Amp Energy Drink. Suck it, Circle K!

This yellow-colored energy drink has a generic tropical aroma. If you’re wondering what generic tropical smells like without having to buy anything, go to your local Walmart. Then mosey on over to the air freshener aisle, find a spray with the word “tropical” printed on it, spray some of it into the air, and inhale those chemicals. After all that, I think you’ll get an idea of what Red Bull Summer Edition smells like…and get dirty looks from Walmart employees.

Red Bull Summer Edition Energy Drink Closeupd

The beverage is lightly carbonated, which makes it easy to consume, but is less nose-tickling fun when poured into a glass. However, it’s taste bud-tickling fun when consumed. It has a delightful sweet flavor that wasn’t too syrupy. I could taste pineapple, orange, papaya, and maybe mango, but the pineapple stood out. It was almost like drinking pineapple juice, but there isn’t any pineapple, orange, papaya, or mango juice in the ingredients list. But there is “Artificial and Natural Flavors.” Vague? Yes. But not as vague as the last ingredient listed…

Red Bull Summer Edition Energy Drink Colors

…Colors.

I’m someone who likes the odd medicinal flavor of regular Red Bull and the odd medicinal artificial sweetener-laden flavor of Sugar Free Red Bull. I’m also a fan of the Red, Blue, and Silver Editions. But Red Bull’s Summer Edition is now my favorite flavor. It has a nice tropical flavor with a slight sour back end, it’s not too syrupy, and it comes in 12-ounce cans and not the smaller 8.4-ounce one.

I see myself urinating it out a lot this summer.

Disclosure: I received a free sample of Red Bull Summer Edition from Red Bull. I believe this satisfies the FTC requirement. If not, I shall add, I did not receive any monetary compensation for this review.

Pros: Nice tropical flavor. Not in an 8.4-ounce can. 114 milligrams of sweet, sweet caffeine per can. Smooth. Passing drug tests.
