Will you please show us the gaudiest thing you can find in your city?

Here's my pick for Memphis.

For those who can't see it for whatever reason, it's a church on a relatively major street in Memphis (not the right address, I was searching for something else). In front is a mock Statue of Liberty holding a cross. The statue says, "America Return To Christ." No seriously, it does.

Discounted deal on a nearby restaurant-

Y'all may remember last year I picked up a $50 GC for Pittypat's Porch.  I made a reservation for Monday, turns out they were closed on Monday, and they apologized with a $75 GC.  Well the $50 GC deal is back!

It's $23 for $50 worth of food at Pittypat's Porch, which is right next to the Westin, and has great food.  They've changed the terms so it's one GC allowed per table unless you have a party of 5 or more, in which case it's two per table.

Pittypat's is a nice sit-down restaurant (you can make reservations on their website) so it may be more suited to Thursdays or Fridays than serious Con days Saturday, and Sunday.  Also they're not open on dead Monday.  Nothing is open on Monday night.  Ever.  Unless it's overpriced like the Hard Rock Cafe or your hotel restaurant.

Sometimes Half Off Depot has coupon codes, so you might want to wait for one before you snap the deal up.  For instance, Memorial Day weekend everything was 28% off.

Self-promotion time!

Remember that steampunk book series I mentioned a few entries ago?  Well I told you about a contest the author was running where you could design a hat for a character to be used in her next book.  I don't know if anyone else from here entered, but I did, and I made it to the finals with two different entries.  The grand prize is a set of autographed books :).  If anyone cares to suggest my hats (or anyone else's hats) are awesome, they would do so over here.

I'm getting increasingly sure that I'm prone to sneaky yeast infections. The non-itchy kind with not too suspicious discharge (my discharge is usually pretty thick these days, possibly a symptom, but far from the there-is-cottage-cheese-in-my-undies look). It also tastes kind of bitter, but hey, that might just be me. The main symptom is that I get super sore from PIV sex, around the bottom of my vulva. It has been suggested on here before that it might be a sneak-YI that I was dealing with, so I treated with the tea tree method and as I recall the situation improved.

However, these last few weeks it seems to have returned, but I've been super lazy about treating it because my OH and I have been too tired and busy to have sex very often so I haven't really had many reminders! I want to get on top of it now, but I'm about to start a withdrawal bleed and I'm not sure whether there would be a problem with using my usual method (douching with diluted tea tree oil) while I'm bleeding. I use a mooncup too, so I'm paranoid that the oil would ~do something~ to it (don't ask me what, or how. But I can't afford a new one right now and I don't want to break it ;)) Any experience treating a YI whilst bleeding?

Artists of TQC- how often do people approach you about doing work for free? If a friend approaches you about doing work for free, how do explain you can't work without charging?

What are your favorite types of crackers? Brands/flavors, please!

If you don't like crackers, you can list similar snacks...I'm not picky.

The characteristics of a state or region could be defined by the music they listen to, according to a study of US musical tastes commissioned by online music concierge service Songza.

The Songza report surveyed more than 1,000 US music fans about their musical preferences and profiled each state according to their playlists. The research reveals that the nation's song of choice to wake up to is "Somebody I Used to Know" by Goyte (42%); Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" makes half the nation (50%) more productive with their workload; but "Don't Stop Believin" by the Glee cast stirs up deep feelings of resentment and anger in 1 of 4 music fans (26.7%).
