Apparently the IME (independent medical exam) claims that I'm back to where I was before my fall. Nope- not so. Fortunately, I'm still good for one more epidural with them, and then it goes to my regular insurance.
Hell, as long as I don't have to pay more than a minimum to get fixed to a point where I can function, whatever works. Apparently, I missed my #3 injection due to Denise the receptionist's oversight - she claimed I was unable to get the shot due to worker's comp not being properly phrased.
We'll see how this turns out.
In other news - BHK and I may go see our Tuesday movie, or we might go on walkabout in a bit. time will tell, dear journal.
Looking for a ew renter for out Deerfield beach condo - old tenant is great, but he moves back to Brazil this month.

Not sure If I've mentioned this yet - but even if the new Land of the Lost movie totally stinks (which I doubt), I'm betting I'll get a cool sleestak toy out of it being produced.
Pretty straightforward day - Back was hassling me qite a bit, but we managed to get groceries and hit the post office -
dinner of spaghetti and veggie meatballs... and asparagus / garden broccoli in rice wine vinegar and garlic. fantastic! Good feed for whiel we watched "so you think you can dance"

Happy Anniversary, LJ - 9 years doing entries. Hard to believe, though my posts of late have been petty scanty. I need to get back on the wagon and produce something I'll want to look back on in a few years.
IN back news, I got my second epidural today... not working so great - may be due to scar tissue issues. next one will be injected through my side rather than the back, if I get another.
After my shot to the spine (pictures to follow), we visited at the in-laws for a few - had chinese food and hung out - Adam came over and played a little guitar with Larry and Stone.
Adam fessed up to trying adderall before his finals... not sure how happy / unhappy I am with that. Not prescribed to him. Misuse can easily become abuse.
Watched Children of Men - not bad, but not mind-blowing, either. Worth seeing on tv, but perhaps not a non-netflix rental.

Happy Walpurgisnacht!
Not at work - workers comp / work in general needed a tighter definition of "light duty". (I got the email last night after the doctor's office closed - so I get another day from the house. Kind of annoying - not sure if worker's comp is going to pay for my day off today.)
Should be self explanatory, but I have to wait. I guess back tomorrow. Spoke to the doc, and she's sending over more info this morning.
As of now (approx 3:20pm) they still haven't faxed the information over. I tried calling a little while ago, but no answer. Going to try again in about 10 minutes.

Farmers Market - BHK and Chris picked up a great number of flowers and plants for the garden, I spent the day seated for the most part.
Garden was dusted for slugs and bugs - hopefully the squirrels will stay out of the lettuce.
Got the 2nd book in the Nightside series at th library - #3 came via bookmooch, and #4 was the BIG book sale a few months back. another book sale tomorrow - I hope I'm up to making the rounds.

carnival games - summer sports paradise island Cute, but not great. I'd say that carnival games is worth a quick rental from the library, but summer sports was hardly worth the loading into the wii.
We surfed the machine's wiiware collection and dropped $10 on bonsai barber - much fun and superior to both the others.

Getting caught up on my light reading – Laura Lippman’s Baltimore Blues is pretty good – Simon R Green’s Nightside stuff is a bit too Mary Sue (Marty Lou?) – not as good as Jim Butcher’s Dresden books, but entertaining popcorn novels.
Reverting a bit to childplay – petting the cats, watcinhg tv, but mixing it up with catching up on my sql skills and visual studio strengths when not too stupid on muscle relaxers.

Back to work - no Franklin, but I did spot a tin of eaten cat food... someone's taking care of him.
Not feeling the vibe - really out of it. Hypersensitive both physically and emotionally. Ye Olde Back/ Leg plus lack of good sleep, I think.
I am really creaking quite a bit today - BHK was very kind to pick me up from work - we got home and we had homemade shepherds pie... always a favorite. veggie-meat, mung beans, corn, and mashed potatoes.
I'll sleep well tonight, and am looking forward to tomorrow's leftover lunch.

Back too far gone - didn't make it to work today. I still had to do work, however, and take a sick day, besides. Not much one can do about that, but at least I could work from the bedside, and stay in my pjs.
In-laws came over with Chinese food, and I primarily slept off my back with some prescribed night-night pills.
I should be ok to head to work tomorrow - I can't afford not to! If I do stay home, I'd still have to visit the doc to get a time off slip, and transit is transit - no fun. The in-laws wanted to go to Selby bay for pizza, but also didn't want to leave me behind.
I'm convinced that Dollhouse is better because we're seeing less and less of the lead actress. Castle is still doing pretty well, too.

Rainy day this morning - took the raincoat rather than the overcoat. Slipped a bit in the mud at the station - kept balance, but my shoes and my back are paying the price.

Reading the first book from the Nightside series BHK found for me off of bookmooch - . Fantasy Noir stuff... first 30 pages are entertaining so far. I got the fourth book at a B.I.G. booksale about a year ago, and hadn't opened it yet.

Got my allergy shots today, and Dr. Moody was in - fortunately for me, as I was really pretty sore and my epidural isn't for 2 weeks yet. She gave me a scrip for prednisone, some knockout drops for nighttime, and a nice dose of muscle relaxer for when I need to function at work.
While BHK was getting the scrip filled, I visited the radio shack next door for a power cord to juice my $1 police scanner - no dice, but I did get a tv tuner for the pc - much fun, but need to get a better antenna for more signal. (right now I get one analog pbs channel (poorly), and 3 digital channels.)
Picked up our mail, and then ducked in out of the rain at the candy store (I had to help E. Bunny with BHK's basket) - we discover grape-flavored wax mustaches... bhk augmented hers with a candy cigarette. far superior to cherry wax lips of my youth.
. 
After that, I was pretty tuckered out, spent the rest of the day taking it easy - back was really out of whack.

Went back to the doctor yesterday, and was scheduled for an epidural on 4/28. Hopefully, that'll help with the sciatica issues... and I'd *really* like it if someone canceled early, so I don't have to wait just shy of three weeks to get treatment.
We had dinner on the porch last night - it was nice, but still a wee bit chilly. sub sammiches, as the sun went down.
No Franklin this morning, but saw the little brown girl cat last night while waiting for BHK to pick me up.
BHK found me a ton of new clothes at the thrift store - some giant must've gotten a new wardrobe, because I have something like a dozen or more shirts. Mostly short sleeved plaid stuff like I enjoy, but a few dress shirts suitable for work, too.
Enjoyed both episodes of the office, and parks & Rec was ok too.

I forgot to show the latest update to Larry's homemade guitar. It's truly a thing of beauty. He wet-sanded it to a high gloss, and it really makes the wood grain pop. He's practically finished with it... I'm going to have to see what good deeds I'll have to do to get him to make me a bass guitar to jam along with him. For that matter, I need to pick up the guitar and practice my chords some more. I figure I'll have time to do more practice this summer, while BHK is studying for her exams.
Back bothering me some more - My left hip and knee are bugging me, as well as more sciatica issues. Took the bus this morning, and I suspect that didn't help too much.

Best part about getting to work this morning was that I saw Franklin! No treats for him today, but gave him some nice head scritchies. He's a total little lover... if I knew of anyone in the DC/MD/VA area looking for a sweet cat, he'd be adopted. I haven't seen the scaredy-cat girl kitty lately, but I suspect that she hides out if Franklin is anywhere nearby.

Random thoughts - I'm amazed that gay marriage is legal in Iowa, but not in California. Given that Arnold is the Gov, maybe there is more Right-wing thought there than I perceive.

When BHK picked me up at the train station tonight, there was a moment of snow ... didn't last long, but was just momentary enough to be a little fun. BHK thought it was cherry blossoms in the wind, until they melted on the hood of the love cube.

Well, back is still being tricky, but I was ok enough to go gently back to the office!
Back is sore, and poor BHK has contact allergy / dermatitis - We're both just sort of shambling around for the moment, and trying to keep our heads together.
Fortunately, we're both in pretty good moods, despite my nagging her not to scratch.
We were blessed by not having to make dinner tonight - Chris and Larry came back from the camping / Environmental trip with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and they picked up Chinese food and a 10-layer cake for us to gobble up while they regaled us with tales of no electricity, mud and guides with Elvis sideburns.
We cooled our heels, and watched a little NCIS (and In-law staple that I don't mind at all) and then a really good Annie Oakley documentary on PBS. I have a new found respect for the lady.
Here, dear journal - have a Pyewacket pic and a newton movie! Pye looking outside from my comfy zone on the couch, and Newton running around while BHK and I relax from the same area.
