Sakes... Last night was a another wonder,I could listen to Ornj's voice forever... we stayed up, talking late into the night...she showed me a journal of hers from a year ago, and I ravenously consumed it. Her life is a beautiful one, and I'm delighted to be allowed to spend time with her in it. It's amazing what you learn from reading another person's journal... :)

MMmmMM . I just want to hug 'er, and kiss 'er and luv 'er... (I don't imagine I'll name her George, though.)

Latest irritant -

I may not be able to get my B-day off of work. I've not worked on my birthday in over 10 years. My own personal holiday, call me vain, if you want. I've not been home sick form work in over a year and a half.

They say they can't afford to have me off, with the skeleton crew... I'm going to ask nicely if I can telecommute, and if that doesn't work... well. They might have to get someone else.

Going home. See you kids from there.

These tribes of men were never seen,
except for their footprints and shadows,
except for their snow huts and weapons.
Seeing that there were no invisible women,
these imperceptible men courted humans.
Invisible men were said to be among the most handsome,
but women could not be sure who they married
until the unseen spouses died
and then their faces became apparent.
One human woman was so curious,
she often stared into her invisible husband's shadow
trying to guess the shape of his chin.
When she held his body against hers at night,
she memorized his outline. She tried to fill
everything else in the next day when he was out hunting.
She imagined the shapes of his hot breath in cold air
were keys to the details of his chest.
She noticed the nuances of skin color among the villagers
and tried to approximate his. When they kissed,
she paid tribute to his invisible nose's width.
One day when she could stand it no longer
she stabbed a knife into the space
where her husband was sleeping.
His feet appeared first, then his legs,
his torso, his arms, and finally his face
which was more angelic than any wife
could have imagined. Outside the hut
bows were seen moving through the air
as the other invisible men craved revenge.
Because of their code of honor, invisible men
could not aim arrows at those who could not see them.
So instead they wailed along with the wife,
voices even more invisible than usual,
sobbing their disembodied grief.

flax seeds.

They're about the size of sesame seeds, they taste like nothing, and here's what they (reportedly) can do:

Good for preventing/treating endometriosis, constipation, and diverticulitis.

lubricates the blood vessels and helps to clear clogged arteries.

The National Cancer Institute has found that flax has an anti-cancer effect even to match some chemotherapeutic drugs -- but without any icky side effects.

Flax is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which are good things. Scientific research has established that women who have the highest amounts of Omega-3 have the lowest incidence of breast cancer. Flax may also help prevent endometrial cancer, heart disease and strokes.

About a zillion other benefits are listed at
http://www.theministryoffitness.com/mof/library/FAQ/faq4.htm
A note: drink lots of water with flax, or your bowel will wish you had.

Flax is way easy to work into your diet - I'm stubborn, and even I am finding it not too hard. Toss some in with rice while it's cooking, sprinkle em on a salad or peanut butter sandwich, or make flax seed crackers. They're yummy, and maybe you won't die of something horrible!

p.s. flax is slang for whore. true, ask webster.

Good Night... :)

Thank You Girl
(John Lennon, Paul McCartney)

Oh, oh
You've been good to me
You made me glad
When I was blue
And eternally I'll always be
In love with you
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl

I could tell the world
A thing or two about our love
I know little girl
Only a fool would doubt our love
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl

Thank you girl for loving me
The way that you do (Way that you do)
That's the kind of love
That is too good to be true
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl

Oh, oh
You've been good to me
You made me glad
When I was blue
And eternally I'll always be
In love with you
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Golden Slumbers
(John Lennon, Paul McCartney)

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
