Rest in peace, James Doohan.

You played no small part in a large number of nicknames I had as a kid, and it still comes up to this day.

"Beam me up, Scotty" wasn't so bad. Not bad to be associated with the character of a miracle-worker who liked a nip now and again. Surely beats the "Shop at Scotty's", "Mary, Queen of" or "Scot-towel/tissue" stuff.

Scot Free (or Scott Free) isn't so bad, nor is "Great Scott!"

Nobody gave me any nicknames based on Geraldine Fitzgerald.

I was complimented on my eyes by the phlebotomist yesterday. Nice gal, and her needle-stick technique was outstanding.

Nice collection of applications that run directly off of a usb "thumb" drive. I may start carrying mine again! (for Security and system maintenance tools, if nothing else)

Build your own little paper rocket - it comes complete with a pneumatic launch pad.

"Sounds For The Sun-Set: 2005" - ah, the fun stuff you find on webjay. I rather dig the tonga hut (mp3). It's what the inside of my head sounds like on a good day.

Nifty logo-creator toy.

7578 - More trouble in the UK

More London Transport Incidents - 7/21/05

"It is now becoming clear that there were three attempted bombings today - at Oval station, at Warren Street station, and on a 26 bus in Hackney. Speculation suggests the detonators on these devices went off, but the bombs themselves did not. Should this be the case, there are clearly going to be huge risks in disarming the devices - but the potential for clues as to who, exactly, is behind this.."
